Injection testing equipmnet / Thoughts

Craig, thanks for the reply.
The problem we have, not just in the UK, is that the HDT and
particularly the HDFT engines are comparitively rare beasts. Repair
shops see them infrequently and thus do not build up any level of
expertise or invest in the relevant service tools. It would appear from
the experience of fellow listers and from what you have said that repair
shops make some sweeping incorrect assumptions regarding the dual stage
set up process and the assocaiated confusion re BOSCH / DENSO parts.
I am quite certain that if I as a customer was to ask some searching
questions as to their knowledge many of these places would give a rather
hostile response, thus a good test of who to avoid.
Julian and Roman appear to have, eventually, found good dealers but
they have the more conventional HDT engines. I have the HDFT.
I will look further at the tools required.
Regards Gareth.

Sorry for being dim, but why not just buy new injectors?
What is the point of running the gauntlet of garages...?

Hi,
the problem is brand new injectors are probably something like 1800
pounds for a set but the only part that needs replacing is the nozzle
and needle assembly but they have to be reset up properly and that seems
to be the problem.
Simon is yours a 1HD-T or a 1HD-FT?
Cheers,
Craig.

Hi Lubomir,
Few if any dealers will have the kit themselves to do the testing, most
of them subcontract any work beyond basic servicing to experts.
Best bet is to ring the parts department and find out who they sub
contract the work to then approach them directly.
Although, some injections specialists I have found will only do the
work on the iunjectors and pumps leaving it up to you to sort out
getting them out of the car.

Hi Julian
yes-now I remember I've asked Toyota for the IP rebuild and they told
me they use those 'specialists' which don't know the difference between
'bosch' and 'denso' or to be most correct they never heard of 'denso'
IP. I'm referring the 'Bosch diesel electro' firm !!!!!
I don't want to worry in advance but smell some trouble...
cheers
