Injectors and shocks

Hi Gareth/Julian
Points taken on board. I agree that getting the injectors sorted is
first priority. I can live with the poor uphill starting and will try a
work around by fitting the Walbro.
Can anyone else advise on the shocks/springs combo and OME vs Bilsteins?
Reno seems to have an interesting opinion and I would appreciate anyone
else's.
Radiator has started to leak again from the hole in the top. So have to
bite the bullet and replace. Milners again or is there another option??
All the best

I'm planning to replace with OMEs, and will report once done. Won't be until mid September though.

Simon,
Get the Bilsten/Eibach combo. IMHO that's the best kit for the money,
well tried and tested.

Hi Simon
=46rom personal experience I'm not a big fan of OME shocks. In
preparation for a 11 000km trip through southern africa I fitted a brand
new set of OME shocks. After 2000km's the front shocks started leaking
oil and after 3000km's they were completely useless, and this was in the
middle of nowhere in northern Mozambique with another 1000km of terrible
roads to go to Dar Es Salaam for the nearest spares...
Once back home the OME agents were very cooperative and replaced the
shocks free of charge, but this didn't help me much while I was on the
trip.
I know a large number of 80/100 series cruiser owners in South Africa
are converting to Rancho shocks - rather expensive, but very robust.
Rancho's offer a nice optional gadget which enables you to adjust the
shock air pressure depending on the load you are carrying (you need to
fit an air compressor in order to do this). I don't have any personal
experience of Rancho's, but the guys who fitted them were very happy.

Hi Paul,
Paul, I'm interested to read this.
Where the shocks properly rated for the load you were carrying?
