Yesterday the idling speed was not stable, I checked under the hood and found that the MAF Sensor wires were broken, I soldered 2 new wires to the connector, I don't know which wire is the positive on the MAF Sensor, if I connect the wires the wrong side will it damage the MAF Sensor, is it possible to find out the positive pin on the MAF Sensor with multimeter ? kindly advise.

Measure the voltage across the two pins, when you have your multimeter negative and positive leads the right way around, the voltage will be positive.

Alternatively with everything turned off. Use the multimeter to check the continuity between one wire and battery negative/ground. When the meter beeps to signal continuity, that's the negative.

Dear Karl2000,

I know the positive and negative wires coming out of the vehicle wiring, BUT the wires were cut and fell down due to corrosion , now I don't know which port is the positive on the sensor itself ? to reconnect the wires to the sensor.
