landcruiser engine failure

Dear Toyota owners, my landcruiser's engine failed 1 month after the warrantee ran out. The £10000 repair bill could have been avoided had I known about the faulty copper seals- cost £100. I would like to know of other's affected as Toyota will not contact owners not YET affected and I would like to put pressure on them to do so before anyone gets hurt. My cylinder melted and with 5 children in the car that could have been life threatening. If you have had a car affected please message me with year of purchase/service history (Toyota won't fix any that haven't been serviced by them), mileage at failure. I will use the information only to show numbers involved and hopefully shame them into informing owners of the potential risk to life and pocket. Many thanks, Nicola.

Hrmm yep. Those darn faulty copper seals!

Toyota changed mine when it went in for an anual service.
They phoned me when it was in, and asked if they could keep it a few more hours.
To which I agreed of course.

This was when it had about (2005 year) 240,000 miles on the clock.

Gra.
(the seals coming out were "as new" ane with with no signs of defect.)
