Leather repair

Yesterday my 5 year old daughter put a pen without a lid into my back pocket which I forgot about. As I sat down in the car there was a gawd-awful noise as it gouged and dug its way through my seat bolster. The end result is an inch-long gouge ending in a small hole about the size of a pencil.

What would be the best way to repair it? It's on the bolster which my, urm, petite, frame sits on.
If not repaired will it run? Should I just leave it?

The tear is unlikely to get longer IMO but the leather may stretch and open up the 'wound'. It might be possible to get it stitched by an upholsterer but don't leave it too long. Failing that it'll be a replacement of the leather skin over the bolster which will be easy day to day stuff for a professional but obviously more pricey. JMO

These are still going strong but you will have to search the thread to find out what i used because i can't remember , something called binding i think , glue and a patch of leather under the hole ?

ah yes, I remember when you did these.
I'll try darken the gouge so it's less obvious and the hole I'll try fill. Don't think I'll be keeping the car that long that it'll grow. I'll be sure to leave a hanky on the seat when taking it back to the dealer...

It might be worth phoning with your order Crispin instead of just buying online , it was a while ago but i found them very helpful and keen to give advice .

Look on google maps, come down the A40 past Northolt airport on your right, take the next exit & turn left towards Hillingdon, this is longlane, first turning on the right is Tudor way, he's down there
