My first thought was an oem head will be a replica/mimic of the old flawed head design (and at great dealer expense), so no gain at all, but IF they have improved, it could be an (expensive) option.
Doing this sort of work is never cheap anyway.
I replaced mine with a fully made up head from Roughtrax, a bit more expensive than bare, but easier change - one off, one on. I had other things going on at the time, so easier for me.
Engine swap options, there are several - IF you can get a good one - hmm, prepared to take a chance or do main rebuild on what you decide on or can get.
IIRC,another member needed a replacement engine for his Colorado, was given wrong advice (not here), it was a load of shit, and he ended up with another engine and full rebuild/fit, so tread carefully.
