Hi Everyone,
My name is Derek from Dublin , I recently got attached to my second Landcruiser LC70 crusade by accidentally stumbling across it on a farm in Co Wicklow, it was lying up for 13 years but a new battery , oil change and a lot of effort to free out the brakes and she drove me home, I won’t say it was plain sailing as crappy fuel caused several unscheduled stops!
this is second landcruiser project , the first was 1984 BJ 40 and like the current project it was pulled from a farm in Cork, my passion is the restoration of these iconic vehicles, I served as an apprentice HGV mechanic working on several BJ s in the late eighties where I think I caught the bug
I learned a lot from these forums the first time out nine years ago so I thought I’ d get some really good advise as I progress through this new project, much the same as the last time what started as minor restoration has now turned into a full nut&bolt frame off project.
I look forward to some interesting conversations over the coming months
Derek
