Hi Del, good progress happening.. You mentioned some info on the 1kzt swap... there's a few items you need as well as the engine.
If the engine is from a 90 series the bolt on engine mounts are longer, the shorter versions are on surf, 120 series, hilux d4d mk5, kzj 70 71 etc.
You need the bell housing, flywheel, starter motor, clutch and slave cylinder + pipework.
90 series sump reservoir is positioned at the front which clashes with the front axle so surf sump, pickup tube and dipstick... granvia is second best appart from a kzj70 setup which is optimum.
Power steering pipework from a surf or mk5 d4d hilux works.
You need a top of tank fill radiator.
Bigger airbox, 80 series, surf and kzj70
Manual fuel pump... can work with the lj pump but it wount deliver quite enough fuel with the 10mm element.. kzj's have 12mm element. My kzj is running a daihatsu fourtrak pump which has a 9mm element in it with the fuel screw wound right in.. still does 85mph it's fine! It saves it from overfueling and causing head issues.
Accelerator linkages..
Turbo outlet..... surf points directly at the firewall but works with a body lift, Granvia points directly down and a 90 degree bend off it clashes with the chassis. 90 series is unworkable, kzj70 points directly into the wheelarch perfectly but are a very rare part.. if you're going the custom exhaust route then to make an elbow straight off the back of the turbo... best route as the lj exhaust is smaller bore and could raise egt's if used.
A bit of info but with no doubt it will transform the lj70 from a snail to a motor cross bike!Lol
