we had a couple of long weekend camping trips in May to NW Scotland, the weekends coinciding with nice weather too.
First one was to Ardmair point campsite near Ullapool. A nice coastal campsite.
This was after driving to Cannich to use a wild camp spot we went to last year, but sadly there were now no camping signs nailed to all the trees there... and local campsite full due to a bike race
.. so we headed north and had lunch by loch glascarnoch and ended up a Ullapool.
Did some kayaking and walking. Also good to catch up with David with his Troopy, as he passed by doing the NC 500 route.
Had some Apache gunships fly over as well on training excercise.
The new NL fridge freezer weekender worked well on its first outing.
The second trip was to Port a braigh campsite near Achiltibuie and the summer isles.
A great campsite by the sea again, with nice pub next to it.
Again paddling , hiking and sunbathing were the activities. No fish caught again though .
Some great beaches on the islands we kayaked out to.
