I'm not sure how many of you live in rural areas, but do keep an eye
out for mice droppings under your bonnet!
I keep a paper towel in one of the battery trays for wiping the
dipstick when I check oil and noticed that it had been finely shredded
and had been dragged into the little gap under the battery on the RHS
(viewed from front) and there were one or two mouse droppings.
Fortunately a small bit of chocolate on a mouse trap caught the
offender, however it had managed to make a bit of a mess of the foam
that goes between the radiator and the chassis.
I mention it because at this time of year they are looking for nice
warm nests for winter and they seem to have a taste for rubber - in an
old Subaru Legacy I had they messed up all the wiring behind the dash
and made a nest in the air vents, dragging various leaves in for
bedding - with a trap and chocolate I caught five in three days, but
this was after the damage had been caused.
I have also had them in my workshop and they have chewed away the
rubber tip to my solder suction gun/syringe - I guess they must like
the taste.

Hi Julian,
You'd be surprised what they can eat. Recently I discovered they happily
devoured a large chunk of a soap bar. Watch for the one frothing at the mouth!
