Mik's pressures and meeting + my tyres !

Mik,
On tyre pressures why not try the old fashioned 4psi test to see what's best?
Its what I do and 32psi is right for my daily routine in mountain country.
And with the occasional heavy rainfall you get up there, that pressure is
the maximum I would want on wet tarmac.
I used 42psi when driving across Europe 10 days ago with a good load plus
towing a 3 metre trailer. I was not so pleased with it in heavy Alpine
downpours in Austria, but otherwise the fuel consumption was good. But now
I am on local trips I am back down to 32 as I too find 42 makes it too
lumpy, especially for the missus.
As for your UK trip, I will not be at Driffield but like several others am
on the NW side of London. Though I guess you will come down the A1 then
peel off onto the A14 and on to the M11 and M25 east of London. If others
are game then I will gladly join in to arrange a hello somewhere on your route.
And my replacement tyre for the Pajero. I was led to a country tyre and
trailer dealer in Hertfordshire not far from my occasional home at Tring.
They sell 235/75/15 Cooper Discoverer AT's at 62.80 fitted, valved &
balanced. A good deal for a good tyre I think. In other TLC sizes they have
a wider range of makes and patterns.

O.K. Jon, I've been around for a few years now, but I think this is a new

Spot on with the route mate, but I can be a bit flexible if enough people
are up for a meet. Lets see if there is any more interest.

As for the tires, ?62.80 sounds like a great deal, but I already have the
B.F.Gs.
I was very surprised to find that I could get a better deal here in Ireland
than in the U.K. After reading some recent posts, I was expecting to pay a
lot more.

Jon,
Do you have phone / email contact numbers for this dealer? I'll soon
need two Cooper Discoverer tyres and the price seems right.
