Is mineral or fully synthetic oil best for the diffs on a 90 prado????

I have read somewhere that mineral is the best on the older lc90,s

Mine is a 1997 model,,,

I'd stick the best synthetic GL-4 75w90 you can get in the front diff. IMHO.
It runs hot, under the engine with minimal airflow to cool it, it has only 1/3 of the oil capacity of the rear diff and is permanently driven at 50% of the torque.

I have the synthetic in the front diff and transfer box , but had to take it out of the rear diff as it was making the locker bang which is unnerving , I had a little read and the synthetic is not recommended for axles with the Detroit fitted so back to the old stuff and you wouldnt know its there again
