Mobile CB / Ham radio use in Germany - Warning

Heads up for anyone driving across Germany - those doing the Romania run in convoy come to mind, but there are others from time to time.

The use of hand held microphones for CB/Ham radio while mobile is banned from the 1st July 2020. Fine is 100 to 200 Euro. Use with hands free is permitted.

Chas was asking about CB use just the other night on here........CB use

Doesn't bode well for CB use although I would guess that Ham Radio users will be more likely to spend the extra time/hassle/money on HF kit for their rigs. How long before the ruling is adopted over here I wonder?
