We success modified the injection pump for the AAI intercooler kits.
But we read 1.6 bar of boost at the full throttle. The vehicle now
has the enormous power, but I fear that the 1.6 bar is too much boost.
I believes that the boost should only be the 1.2 bar max, given that
I drive caution, tow little, and will install the exhaust pyrometer.
We did not modify the wastegate. What do you the guys think?

1992 hdj80, AAI intercooler kit and turbo, new block from Japon, some
others stuff for nord afrique visits like big fuel tank etc

Hi Benoit,
I remember reading something about upping the boost on a diesel on the list.
Basically from what I remember is that Diesels are ok with the extra boost
as long the fuelling is ok, BUT without a special turbo install you are more
likely to do the bearings on the standard turbo as they are not
designed/tested to spin past the factory spec.
Of course if that goes you can ruin the engine as well, although I don't
really know much about engines/turbos so could be talking out of my BUTT
Cheeks :)
Regards
Martin.

Keep an eye on the pipework off the filter.
I have new marteen and just had all that pipework off and cleaned
down with petrol - there was a bit of oil coming through in the air
filter.
Am wondering if I should be more concerned about that....

Niall,
You will get oil in the intercooler from the breather pipe running from the rocker cover to the pipe between the filter and the turbo, not worth worrying about too much.

Glad to hear that.
My turbo light was coming on - normally at about 130km/hr after 3/4 hrs driving.
That was why i cleaned it down - incase any dirt was getting into the turbo.
Turbo light not coming on any more...
