Greetings all,

Many moons ago I owned a '97 HD80 in Red but sadly had to let it go as my job involved long commute times and big red just wasn't a great motorway cruiser :disrelieved:

I've had a couple of cars since:
2006 Lexus IS200 - awesome build quality but less than exciting
2016 Jaguar XE S - very fun car but I've had 4 tyres blow out on me due to pot holes (of which there are many in these parts)

I thought about getting a Range Rover Sport (don't hate me) but the reliability scares me and they have way too much 'clever' technology for me to be comfortable with (I work in IT so anything with fancy computers I treat with the upmost suspicion).

Now scratching the 4x4 itch again with a 2014 LC200 (Diesel UK spec), 66k miles.

Apart from a potentially suspect AHC rear crossmember pipe and a slightly overwhelming smell of old spice coming from the fridge it looks to be solid and I'm very happy with it.

Plans for the future:
- Replace all fluids & filters (oil, diff, transfer, ATF, AHC, brake, power steering)
- Discs & pads
- CV boots (not split but definitely old and more crusty than I would like)
- AHC rear crossmember replacement - TBC
- torque converter lockup kit &/or transmission remap

I look forward to pestering you all with many questions

Hi Mark,
Congratulations on the new truck. Looking forward to progress updates and pictures of course. Very interested in what corrosion to expect underneath a 10 yr old 200
