Howdy Euro-cruisers, and greetings from the Great White North (Canada, not
Russia).
As the admin suggested, I just wanted to send out a short intro. I'm a
Cruiserhead from Western Canada (Victoria, BC) with a somewhat rare
Canadian-spec 24v 1986 HJ60 (aka: the Super Slug). I'm a big fan of 4x4
travel, and have driven and 4-wheeled in Canada, Japan, Russia, Mexico, and
the United States.
Most of my stories and photos end up on my website (
http://www.4wdtraveller.com) and others have ended up in 4x4 magazines such
as 4x4Magazine (UK) and Four Wheeler (US). I joined this Euro TLC group
because I hope to drag my wife and daughter that one some say and buy or
borrow a Landcruiser to explore the EU, old and new...
Until then, happy trails and see you online...

Hi and welcome aboard.
I'm interested to know the origin of your car, I didn't know that Toyota
sold any diesels in Canada or the US.
The list seems to be exceptionally quiet at the moment (where is
everyone?), but hopefully the others will wake up and chip in - we have
some good seasoned travellers on the list who have travelled in most
countries of the world so plenty of experience to draw upon.

Everybody is probably busy planning their travel, or
has already left.
We ourselves are on our way to the Sahara in a couple of days,
but this time it will be in Algeria.

Julian.
Quite a few heavy duty 70 series were sold officially to the mines but I am pretty sure that the 60s/61s and 80s/81s are all imports. Quite a thriving import market in Canada however some of the parts of Canada, BC I think especially are trying to make it difficult. Most are JDM models so the 80s are mainly 81s.
