Hi,
Probably not the best person to ask for that, no overlanding experience yet.
On my 70 series I use Old Man Emu springs and shocks which perform very well
so far.
I am sure someone will pipe up and let you know what works best with a 105
series.
Lovely pictures btw, did someone paint that rock :)?
Regards
Martin.

Thanks - and yes :
The engravings : a few thousands years ago - artists unkown
The blue / pink rocks : in 1984 they were painted by Belgian artist Jean
Verame. He needed 18 tons of paint and a team of firemen.
They are near Tafraoute - and they stand out very nice if you ask me !

Hi Cedric,
I doubt that my name I in Sahara Overland unless Chris has done a recent version and mentioned ELCO.
I never made it down into the South, although wish I had to miss the hassle in the tourist areas around Erg Chebbi, Ousarzette, etc. The people were a lot more pleasant around Essouira and Agadir but we were only passing through.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Cedric,
Ahhh, thought it looked more like modern art.
Wonder if that modern paint will last as well ;-)
I would love to go to morocco one day, maybe my 70 can cope on such a
journey.
Best I start somewhere like Europe I guess as I am in the UK.
Regards
Martin.

The 105 has essentially the same running gear as an 80 - the most common route is to go for Old Man Emu 2.5"/50mm lift varying the springs/shocks according to the loading.
If you can let me know your approximate extra loading front and rear I'll let you know the best combination.
Actually you can find the chart at http://www.landcruisers.info/ome.html.
Cheers,
Julian

Cedric,
Yes. For such loads I can recommend Eibach springs
Front
47/04 HDJ80VA
Rear
H&R B/C HDJ80 Master Rally
from these people: http://www.eurofac.com/
plus Airlift bags for the occasions when you fill the rear tank to the full.
Please note that shocks do not support the load, only damp the springs.
P.S. Quite funnily, your original post came at the bottom of the
thread. I am wondering if I got into a time warp or gmail is playing
up :)

Hello then Cedric and welcomes to this list. What great photos you
make! Do you do that for your work? Can I come work in Dakar too? What
jobs do exist there?
That 105 is sold too here in France by some specialise shop in
Mulhouse. www.equip-raid.com and yes they do must make it Euro 3
homologation.
Me too think gmail had some too much wine last night.
Benoit here in Mulhouse France
HDJ80 with north afrique setup some like yours, new motor and intercool kit
Range Rover with V8 now too!

Of course you can come to Dakar and work here - it's a free world and you do
what you want !
I am not a photographer by profession unfortunately. But I am in
humanitarian logistics.
EquipRaid is expensive : the double the price of a 105 for the homologation.
You can do that yourself for a fraction of the cost (at least in Belgium).

RE > the homologation of a 105
Any idea what they need to do to make it comply with environmental
standards of EU?
Niall

Change the engine
Alternatively, quite some parts at the inlet and exhaust side need to be
changed, and probably at the injection also.
But I don't think that anyone is doing this.
At least in Belgium it is possible to do a one-off homologation, where you
drive to a homologation centre and your car is approved "as is".

Hi guys,
AAI in Holland has been selling 105's in Europe. If I remember well,
it is necessary to tweek the injection pump and the job is left to
some German company.
