They've been in the garage for a while and I finally got round to fitting them this morning.

These are the rims, 2 of which were unused and two that were the best that Karl had. They all got fully refurbished through 'Spit n Polish' and what a cracking good job they did (as some may recall from when I first had them done).

So, took the truck to the local golf club (as you do) for a photo shoot this morning. [emoji4]

I have to say I'm still rather pleased with them although they now show up the centre caps, which were silver but have turned gold in the sun!!

I'm going to need to paint them but not sure what colour. Silver or gunmetal…answers on a postcard…?

Dare I suggest both?

nice looking rims there, I like the two-tone effect.

Hmm, interesting thought that, perhaps gunmetal all over with the chamfer in silver, was that your thinking?

Something like, or vice versa. Just something to mimic the rims. Maybe silver with the Toyota emblem and detail ring in gunmetal...

I love the two tones, mine were done all silver, caps are black with the Toyota emblem picked out in gold. Clive has the right idea IMO.

regards

Dave

As I've mentioned somewhere on here, these wheels, lovely though they are, started to bubble up on the lacquer where they were diamond cut. So, on the phone to Spit N Polish. Alas at one year on I find out they only guarantee diamond cut ones for 6 months as they are really susceptible to this problem. Ugh! Not sure if I was told this in the beginning but with my memory the way it is, I'll say I was. Anyway, they said they would recoat them for half price. Lesson learned this end as they could have gone back within the 6 months as they were sitting in my garage.

Anyway, I'm a happy bunny 'cos they turned up yesterday, fully coated as per Richard's suggestion at S&P.

Complete with Jon Wildsmith's Nokians.

I really must do something with the hub caps!!

The colour that S&P showed me as being close to the sample I gave is a real good match to the front grille and bumper sections more by luck really as I didn't think to do this. Well pleased - again! :)

Got your winters on all ready i see. Lets hope we need them this year. I didnt even get to put mine on last year...

oh, nice wheels..

Thanks guys.

I'm thinking of doing the caps satin black. At least I won't have to get an exact match. If I can mask the toyota badges so much the better. :)

I think it may have been yours that inspired the colour Dervis.

Nice Rich, shame about the blistering though.

6 months is not enough for any job is it? Apart from an oil change. :icon-rolleyes:

Yep, you really do need to buy a rattle can for those hubs, they're letting the wheels down big time
