Hi Julian
When you recomend another oil pump for the auto box,
What is the reason for this,
Do you only need it if you are towing etc,
Where do you get one,
Any pics and what are the advantages of having one, or the disadvantages of
not having one.
Sorry a lot of questions in me head today have to get answers to some.
Thanks

Hi John,
Sorry for any confusion - I would recommend a secondary oil *cooler*
for the auto box.
The stock auto box is extremely strong compared to others, however it
can suffer from heat build up if you are doing a lot of towing or
desert sand driving, so it is advisable to fit an extra oil cooler
(there is already one integrated into the bottom of the radiator) to
help with longevity.
Traditionally you would fit a small oil cooler in front of the
radiator, however if you have an intercooler there you would need to
put it elsewhere.
The next best place is between the chassis rails behind the radiator,
however being lower down it is more prone to damage from flying stones
so you need to build in extra protection.
Having said that, you could just put one anywhere in the engine bay,
just having the oil cooler in the system will keep the oil temperatures
at a better level.

Hi Julian
Thanks for that , if you are doing ordinary driving would you, should you
fit the extra oil cooler, and where would you get one of these. See im
slowly getting hooked on items to prolong the cruiser but as always like
info.
Thanks

Hi John,
Personally I would, because I can do it myself and would probably source a
secondhand oil cooler.
If I was you, I would spend the money elsewhere.
