Hello,
Perhaps someone has had a similar problem and could help me to find a
solution. any advice will be appreciated.
1) I have an XDA Orbit phone with internal GPS and a mini Bluetooth
dongle running Blusoleil software (ver. 2.6.0.1). I am trying to use
the phone's GPS receiver to talk to the pc navigation software via a
BT link but can't get past the com port hurdle.
The phone is paired with the pc via COM7. COM6 is the incoming port -
there are no other ports to select.
In the phone's System Settings, COM4 is the port that programs use to
obtain GPS data, and the hardware port to which a GPS device can be
connected is a range between COM0 and COM9.
Bluesoleil software on my PC is paired with the phone on COM24, runs
Serial Port Service A via COM26 and Serial Port Service B via COM27.
I can make connection between the phone and the pc using Serial Port
Service, but that's about as far as it goes. Redirecting COM26 or any
port to COM7 on the pc has no effect.
2) BTW, I had to twice reinstall blusoleil software. I noticed it
added each time a new range of virtual com ports. Now the valid range
is COM23 - COM31. What's happened to COM1-COM22? How do I restore the
settings. Does this affect the issue I have with GPS link described
above?
