Thanks for the organisational expertise on the Sunday - any plans to
run other days out, as it were?

Hi Renate,
No plans as yet, but I think it was a good formula and something that
will be very easy to replicate at any point in the future.
It was interesting that whilst I was with the group looking for the
rougher stuff, we only really had problems in one particular spot where
I was leading and got stuck and the others were able to drive around it
easily.
Gareth Jones was with us with a stock LC (except for his 285 All
Terrains), but I suspect that any of you could have made it. I also
only recall rubbing up against one bush and that wasn't really on the
plain so no body scratches or damage.
I think that next time we can just split into two equal groups and as
long as we have at least one very capable vehicle with recovery kit in
each group we should be fine.

Julian,
Once again thank you for organising Sunday.
I have been 'off air' for a couple of days so my thanks are probably last.
I have been to Wales to pick up a caravan that I have recently
purchased. While there I had dinner with a friend. The friend was a
guy that organised my trip to Russia last Feb., he also organised what
was probably the most enjoyable weekend that Glen and I have ever had
away. This weekend was a day green laning, followed by a day off
roading on some forestry commision land. While chatting to him he
told me that he now has much more, and he says better, areas to play
on. He made the offer that he could organise the same kind of thing
for our group if we are interested. There was some cost to the last
time but it was small. Some of us stayed in hotels for the Friday and
Saturday and some camped, so the economy is available. Saturday
evening was the usual pub meal and get together. If you, or any of the
group think that this might be an idea I will get in touch with him
and see what we can do.
Regards, Clive.

I think this is an excellent idea.
I'd be very interested, and Gareth might too I guess, and a few others
too from, the list.
