OTT LIft

It does look odd. Claimed to be a factory fitted lift. Also it has a front wheel drive option as well as the more normal choices.

Nope it just needs bigger tyres and wheel spacers or negative offset wheels to keep things in proportion . I won't go any higher because i can't go any wider without needing some major modifications .

Looking at the bashplate and rear crossbar i'd say that its an inch higher than mine , or it would be if i didn't gain 2 inches on it with my tyres .

I don't know how they figure it has 24" ground clearance, the wheels look standard to me, I wonder if they supply an entrance ladder.

Oooo, all those guaranteed motorway miles, (mainly in japan......)

I'll bet it has had much bigger wheels and tyres on at some stage. Can't see the point in having a lift that big for "mountains and ruff terrains" and fitting standard wheels and tyres.

Def has a body lift in addition to the SL - looks like a 2 inch/50mm body lift minimum.

Mines had a bodylift, 2", thats way more, maybe 5".

Mostly motorway miles, but it was used as a second family car.....

Why do I think the write-up is not entirely accurate?

Still, will fetch a good price, and the leather looks nice as well.

I recon the photos are out of ratio as well. The whole truck looks too narrow for its body height. There isn't a straight side-on view unfortunately. That would clinch it because the wheels would look oval if my hunch is right. :icon-rolleyes:

Photos 3 & 4 show how high the body lift is. All that chassis hanging low to the body at the rear and the big gap in photo 4 between the chassis rail and the body in the wheel arch. You could get your hand and wrist through that gap, 4 - 5 inches I'd guess.

50mm coil spacer lift and 50mm body lift is my guess but it has +15 offset 17" wheels and 31"tyres .

Here's mine with 50mm coil spacers and 40mm body lift for comparison , only 10mm lift difference but mine has -32 offset 16" wheels IIRC and 33" tyres . Can't find a side on pic so this vid will have to do .

From ground to underside of my wheel arch measures just over 1 metre .

N Reg as well, thought the earliest was P Reg?

Thats probably the jap paperwork when it was imported.

Yours all looks in proportion though. the one on ebay just looks crap.

Cheers Joe truth is i'd like bigger hoops (maybe 35") that protrude another 3" on the current wheels so i would have to extend the wheel arches but can't see any reasonable way of doing it unless i could somehow have the axles extended - is that possible ?

But to return to the thread all the truck for sale needs is a set of steel wheels and 285/75's to put things right .

The rear cross member you can see in this pic is about 4" deep and is covered totally by the bumper when standard. The only way to lift a truck to expose that x member is a body lift so 4" body lift minimum but I reckon that is probably it. Judging by the LCA's in the pic of the front the angle looks standard to me.

It is possible to fit 35" tyres and a few members (no one on here) has done it, search and you'll see. The problem is jumping from 33" to 35" requires a lot more work all round and for the gain, is it worth it? For the look, Hell Yeah! You'll need a body lift as well as a 2" lift, get rid of the mud flap and trim a lot of the body trim off. And then the perfect offset to get the steering to work, either done with wheels or spacers. On top of this, a re-gear may be needed. It is possible though!

Can't go up more without going wider Beau or it just won't look right and the only way i can think of to add width is to use wheel spacers and wider wheels with an even greater negative offset which wouldn't work because aside from over stressing everything from bearings to suspension full lock to full lock would cause the tyre to travel in such a long curve it would probably rub until i had trimmed bodywork all the way back to my door . Of course i'm a novice and way out of my depth here but it seems to me that the only way to do it right is to bring the whole hub out to gain width which is no layman's job .
