Howdy Everybody!
My name is José and I've recently inherited a 1980 Land Cruiser Bandeirante pickup truck. I believe the model is OJ55LP-BL3 (it has a wooden bed) . I'm sure y'all are familiar with it, but this model (produced in Brazil) has a factory Mercedes Benz diesel engine (OM-314, 3.8L). The truck is currently in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where my family lives and I'm considering importing it to the US. One of the things that concern me though is whether I'll find parts for this engine over here... The OM-314 was extremely popular in Brazil for decades, being used in tractors, trucks and other industrial applications. So finding parts and qualified mechanics is not an issue over there. And I wonder whether I'd have a hard time if I bring the truck to the US.
My Dad restored the truck to factory specs and it's a beauty! Here are some pictures.
Cheers,
José
