Hi guys,

Put petrol in my main tank instead of diesel. Luckily i noticed before i drove off and switched to the sub tank which had diesel. I drove home and drained the main tank dumping the petrol. I have since filled the main tank back up with diesel, however i am yet to switch back to the main tank. Do i need to pump the diesel back up the line from the main tank or will this naturally occur when i hit the switch back over with no problems.

Cheers (The not so expert 4wd dude)

You should be fine mate, sounds as though you've drained 99% of the petrol out, plus since you didn't run the main tank there would be no petrol in the lines. Fill her up to the top and run the main tank, a small percentage of petrol shouldn't do any harm

I did the same but ran it! After the lines and filter bowl drained of diesel, it stopped! Had to drain off 65 liters of petrol, tip out the petrol from the fuel filter can, bleed each injector, then hand pump fuel through the lines. Eventually she started with a cough and cleared in seconds.

you shouldn't have any of that malarkey!
