Re-Stickers & Engine Vibe.

Hey Mik
Thanks for that and know my wine stock is back up so if I need a favour I
can pay in the red stuff. The tick over is at 800 and to me anyway seems too
much because when you put it into gear it jumps unlike when it was at 450 or
there abouts it was a gental slide into engage. Uping the revs has not
helped the vibration so im just looking at other areas for the cause, like
you do. It would seem when the box is engaged in drive but the cruiser is
moving slowly or not at all, the revs drop and then the vibration or shutter
comes into its own. If its left in idle either at a lower rev or at the 800
it will not vibrate.
I know there is an answer to it but I want to give someone else a chance at
getting it before I tell you all, now wouldn't that be something if I could.

I REALLY admire those people that can read a description of vehicle problem symptoms and say - 'hey, its....' and they're usually correct. For me, unless it something like 'the engine is on fire!' then I rarely have a clue!.
Hey There Peter your not the only one in that statement. I do not know how they do it either, it is only from experience and knowledge that you can gain the expertise that these guys have, and yes I do think they know how grateful we the lesser beings are to be able to access their help and gain our own little bit of confidence independence and ownership, a true gift to keep for ever I think, from very unselfish people.

Hey Mik
Thanks for your thoughts on this, its a real pain in the -------. Increasing
the revs has not made it worse but not made it better either so the revs
seem to have nothing to do with it. But then im me and me is not sure what
the problem is at all. When im in P and then put it in D the revs will drop
to about 450 or so and then the vibration comes into it, if it could it
would rock its self right out of the cruiser engine bay. Its a bitch when
your reversing slowly and its rocking and I can hear the engine kind of
splurting for want of a better noise description. One thing I know O god did
I really say that s--- now I know im getting cocky , maybe I should'nt have
said I know cause usually I dont. When the revs were at what I like about
500 the vibs came in every now and again and now when the revs are at 800
there there so maybe ill change it back down and see if that works. See ill
start messing with what I know the complicated indepth fella I am I am I am
not. Im off to do it now so Mik if you hear a loude band, some black smoke
and me landing in your front garden just tell yourself it was a surprise
visit and open up a bottle of wine.

What a description john! :)
This might be a long shot but look on the passenger side at the rolled
edge of the sump where it meets the block, at the point below the engine
mount. Probably easiest to look from underneath. Look carefully, does it
look dented? If your passenger side engine mount has had it, most of the
time the engine will sit tight and behave itself but, especially when
you reverse, even more so if going up hill, the engine will lift until
the sump / block strikes the engine mount and will oscillate making a
very strange noise.
If you suspect this, carefully jack up the engine on the passenger side
and check if the mounting separates where the rubber and metal should be
bonded. It may be that both your mountings have gone and the engine
isn't being held in place nice and firmly.
Best regards,
Jon.

Hi Mik,
OK, I will look into getting some license disk sized ones done and also
some larger ones so you have the best of both worlds.
