Hi all,

Has any one recently, like, last week, got any "real prices" for the cheapest diesel.

I am looking for diesel , gasoil, prices in
Perpignan,
Narbonne,
Millau
Clermont-Ferrand
Nancy

Here in Barcelona I can get for €1.29,9 and I am thinking if it's cheaper of more expensive in my next planned fuel stop of Luxemburg, (€1.19,9) then I will fill my containers here in Barcelona before I leave.

But there is no point if the diesel in the above cities is lower than €1.29,9 :( just really no point in lugging the 100 liters extra capacity I could carry.

Didn't pay much more than that at the super market on Saturday, I think it was 1.32 but cant find the ticket - I wouldn't worry about a couple of cents either way, not worth stress!
If you need it, you need it - occasionally pay 1.48 at the only gas station near us (never fill up though!)

I was getting it for 1.33 at the supermarkets a week ago

Up in the far North of scotland we are paying £1.58 a litre (down from a high of £1.63 a litre).
Owning an 80 series costs around £4,000 a year in fuel!

carrying any fuel in containers in spain is IILEGAL - the cops usually turn a blind eye up to about 20 liters as long as its in CE marked containers.Ive also heard reports that french cops give out fines & confiscate jerry cans

I saw a guy in a (French) VW Touran who had his whole rear compartment full of 20l jerry cans, filling them up with petrol at a supermarket service station when I was there.................must of had the best part of 200 litres of unleaded in his boot!

I paid €1.31 at a Geant Casino station near Aix-en-Provence last week, €1.32 near Cannes. Tbh for the sake of a few cents I wouldn't bother, you'll burn the extra carrying 100kg or so

Thanks to every one who replied :)

Excellent link LeCruiser, thanks.

So not much point really filling up here in Spain, I will wait until I get to Luxemburg.

Then it's carry on up to Hamburg, on the "Luxemburg cheap fuel" then back down to Dunkirk or Calais, then another big fill at the hypermarket near Calais or Dunkirk.

Thanks again,

Gra.

I think it is in the UK as well actually. I think it may be 10ltrs petrol and 20 diesel but not entirely sure

In the UK, for non-commercial use there isn't a limit to what you can carry in your car. There are limits to what you can store at home though - 20 litres in 5 litre plastic, or 10 litre metal cans. There are commerical limits covered under hazardous goods regs but it's a lot - hundreds of litres. But you have to use UN approved containers. 20 litre jerry cans are usually not approved. I suspect there are also regs that could be used against you if stopped domestically with a big stash!

I noticed on a P&O ferry from Calais last week they prohibit carrying fuel containers full or empty. Although there was a LR 110 a couple of cars ahead of me with several lashed to his roof rack.
