Removing door mirror and backing plate

Hi
Please can someone tell me how to remove the mirror and backing plate from the door mirror assembly on a 2007 120 Series?

Hi,

Sorry, can't really help. I've pulled the glass on mine pretty hard and it's not moved. Not sure if I was not pulling hard enough?
Having a look at the exploded diagram for it does not give much away other than the glass is available for about 30 Euros so it is a removable item.

It may be similar to the mirrors on the 90's. Take a look at this thread, there are some pics etc:

How did it come off? Brute force? I still need to take mine apart for an annoying issue.

I have just removed my passenger side mirror remains. Where did you get the new one and how much did it cost? TIA
