Hi All,

I have been parking under an old pine tree recently, and I have found several clear drops, and small runs of very sticky stuff.

I am sure it is dropping out of the tree, or out of the pine cones in the tree.

How can I remove it, without taking a scrubber to it?

It is extreemly difficult to remove, so I am sure there is a solvent or some thing maybe?

If nobody comes up with a solvent, try linseed oil. It may take time to soften the pine resin, but it shouldn't have any detrimental effect on the paint.

Muc off degreaser, spray it on, leave it for a bit then hose off.

My tree surgeon mate uses alcohol handwipes to get pine resin off his hands / clothes. Could be the solvent to use!

Very hot water shifted it, with light use of a green pan-scrub.

First I tried normal tap hot water, and it wouldn't soften it.
Then I boiled some water, and left it too cool for a few minutes, and a pan scrub.

After letting the very hot water trickle over the pine wax, it eventually softened it enough for the green pan scrup to shift it.

It was a seriously hard wax.

Thanks all.

Gra.
