Replacement OEM bottle jack

thanks guys.
when i got the car, the original portable bottle jack was leaking fluid, so i'm not sure if I should trust it...?
could have been water accumulated over the years (from condensation?) or could have been the bottle jack fluid - any way to test without taking any undue risks?

are there similiar ones to the original ones available anywhere else?

Leaking fluid?
The original jack is a mechanical "bottle jack look-a-like", which lifts twice as high as a hydraulic bottle jack of the same size.

hmmm, weird. maybe it was just collected water for some reason... i'm going to check it out tomorrow morning and see whether it still works. missing the bottom lever though, so not sure how tough it will be!

I'm still using the OEM screw bottle jack, but the socket idea is nice even without electrical assistance.

These jacks are very strong and compact, but a dedicated attachment to ensure a more reliable contact with the axle would be an improvement.

It's certainly a quicker option than a high-lift and IMO, safer for wheel changing.

Keep them clean and well greased and they'll last forever....
