Hi Guys,

Any ideas of the best cost effective way of getting the CT 26 turbo replaced or renewed. Just got a quote from Toyota UK

of £1996 + VAT

I knew you can get it refurbished but not sure if it is ever as good as a Brand Bew Turbo.

Thanks

Not much use to you now, but I got mine replaced with a refurbed one by Greg at Burgess Hill for about 1/3 of the price (£750 ish) you've been quoted, that was about two years ago and it was running fine up til the time I last used my 80, that was when I blew the front diff at the last Lincomb. Gregs taken to the hills at the moment but it shows the sort of price you could be paying

We get them refurbished and modified to increase throughput (bigger compressor) with the price including fitting coming out around the same as Chas paid.

At the end of the day a refurbished turbo is generally on a par with new ones.

Yes, can do, but am short on donors at the moment - one of the problems is that the housings are often cracked which means that they end up being a lot more to refurb.
