Rock slider mounting

I'm going to make some rock sliders. I was wondering what do you think is the bast way to mount to the chassis/frame or what would you prefer to see?

These are the ones I made for my SWB. They took a beating and never moved.

Mine are bolted through existing holes.

Sorry to high jack the thread but about to finish off my rock sliders on my 80, as the frame isn't straight just wondering where people put the mounts for these.
 
As you know I've made a fair few sets of these Steve with different designs, but the mounts all have to go in the same place each time as there very little wiggle room at all.
You need to start with the outriggers attached where you can and then mate the sliders up to them.

Thanks for that @Chris been putting this off as it’s a massive ballache, given me a few ideas how to do it now.
 
do you think a samich plate design is better that a U shaped bracket as in the first example?
 
Not really a case of what's best, it's a case of what fits. The other set I put up are off an 80 series where there aren't holes to put bolts through
