Kinda just discovered these troop carriers on steroids lol. Are these made by Toyota or are they custom built? Love to know more about them as I bet they would make a great camper.

Definitely NOT a Toyota thing :)) They're customised for safari operators in Africa. I had the link for the company that does them but seem to have lost it somehow. I can imagine they are impossible to road register in Europe anyway :)

These are 79 series pick-ups that we modify. Normally done only in Kenya and Tanzania by vehcile body builders. Usually involves extending the chassis, reinforcing the Aframe and adding in a roof hatch, for wildlife viewing.

I saw someone asked if these Cruisers are worth it for a safari tour. From my perspective, absolutely yes! These beasts are designed to take on rough terrains, which is exactly what you need out there in the wild. Plus, they’re super reliable and comfortable, which makes the whole experience even better. Imagine spotting a lion while sitting in a comfy seat, knowing your ride isn’t gonna break down in the middle of nowhere. That’s peace of mind right there.

Also, gotta say, combining a safari trip with business class flights sounds like the ultimate way to travel. Start your adventure off in style, relaxed and well-rested, and then dive into the raw beauty of the safari. It’s like mixing luxury with adventure – you get the best of both worlds. I mean, who wouldn’t love stretching out in a plush seat on the plane and then hopping into a rugged Land Cruiser for some epic wildlife spotting? Sounds like a dream to me.
