I finally bought one :)
I think I need to find a manual because I have no idea what I have and how do I do things on it :)
Next I would fit some parking sensors, I'm thinking front and back, suggestions welcome.
I won't pack many things on it because I have to ship it to South America and possibly doing it RoRo.
But I want to prepare for it to put them once I get there.
I'll need:
- inverter ( don't know anything about it)
- refrigerator
- some kind of cooking equipment
- thermal insulation
- other things :)

Well done Silviu, but surely you know the score by now on this forum, with no photo-evidence, it didn't happen!

I have some questions though:

Where did you find it, in Romania or have you had to (or will you have to) import it considering you will export it soon to South America?;

Has it been modified, such as the suspension, or does it still have AHV?;

What engine does it have?; and

Where's the photos?!

I suggest you do some searching on this forum, using the list of search words in your post above, there's loads on here on all those subjects.

Exciting times, bravo!

Ma bucur pentru tine

Hi Clive, I happen to have seen you today while I went to get the car, you were on Street Vinerea Mare :)
Some specs:
2000, 4.2 Diesel 1HD-FTE, 5 speed manual, 204 hp, 2 inch OME lift, Warn 12k winch,
Webasto, MT Cooper tires, Snorkel, power box - 25% power boost.

Also has sidesteps with protection bars that we're sent to repaint, will get them these days.
The engine has a powerbox that supposedly does a 25% power boost.
It's registered in Romania, as you can see in the pictures.

I still have to discover things about it. I have some blinking image with a car and a key on it, don't know what it means.

Do us a favour Silviu, go to your "media" and alter the settings on others viewing your media. It's set to block others from access at the moment, so it still hasn't happened .... yet....

I was up there having been for dental x-rays, there's a long haul of treatment awaiting me, such is life.

I've washed it since BTW, it's blue again now...

I don't know much about 100s but it would be nice to see it. If you want to give it a run out, then you're welcome at our place up in Comarnic, any weekend.

Let me know, there's plenty of room.

Cheers,

I'm going away in Dobrogea this weekend to take it for a spin
Still haven't drove it yet :) Seems like a bus to be, it's huge.

 The further you drive it, the smaller it gets. :icon-biggrin:

The first thing that hits you is the length of the bonnet (hood), once you're used to that, you'll be driving it like a mini...

Have a good trip, drum bun!

Drive it for half an hour every day and on the 7th day you will wonder why you ordered parking sensors .

Agreed.

A reverse camera is cheap and nice to have, but the sensors will likely drive you nuts, in my experience of them anyway.

Congrats on the new acquirement.

Yes, forget sensors. Cool gadget (if you never had them), but not very useful, and most of all a huge nuisance.

Nice looking cruiser there. And great mood lighting too ;) congratulations. May you have many many miles of enjoyable drives in it.

Photos visible now, Silviu, lovely looking truck

Nice find, I'll be looking out for it now I have the number :icon-wink:

BTW, do you know the guys at GTC at Popesti Leordeni?

They're great with service/repairs on cruisers especially, I'd highly recommend them. If you need contact details, I can provide...

I already have a reverse camera, it's very nice to use it.

The number is not in my name, I will have a different one.

Yes, I know them, the car has been serviced lately at their shop. I went for the technical inspection and the experience wasn't quite to my expectations, but maybe it was a one time situation.

OK, the old number is deleted from memory

Sorry you weren't as impressed with GTC as I've been. I've had good service from them since 2006, they even collect and return the truck to the office, for me.

Fitted the repainted steps, struggled for two hours to fit them, not the best position underneath and they are pretty heavy.
Probably the paint won't hold for much.

Also I would like to do something about the missing pieces on the roof bars.

Also noticed a small dent on a door. Not sure what to do about it.

I've sent you a pm Silviu, "inbox" top right hand corner menu.

Last week a check engine light went on. Was off-road and disconnected the battery and it went away.
Last night when I wanted to go with it, the engine light again appeared. Went to an auto shop to get a diagnosis and here is the result:
Error codes: P1420 and P1670
The AHC error codes don't matter as the suspension has been changed

Following the above diagnosis result I took the car to a mechanic.
The fuel pump and injectors have been taken off and sent to a shop that specialises in fuel pumps.
They are now telling me that indeed the pump is malfunctioning and the repair cost is somewhere near 2000Euro, which seems very expensive.
Also they are telling me that the serial code of the fuel pump doesn't match the expected serial for my car and they are asking me if the pump has been changed but I don't know about that from the previous owner.

Also I tried asking Toyota Romania for serials but they don't want to provide me so I'm asking for help for other 100 series owner.
They are telling me that a new fuel pump would cost me around 5400Euro which I find outrageous.

Better to source a used one from another car I'm sure it's gonna be much cheaper and easier process. Year & exact engine specs should yield a replacement without much effort.
