Beats "winding the vice-grips to the max in an(other failed) attempt at getting it out"

I've just got mine, brought back from USA by a friend, the Vampire Tools company wanted $35 for shipping a $35 pair of pliers to the UK. They look OK but a little small, that's a £coin in the pic.DSCN0808.JPG

Jeez Chas - how big are the screws you need to extract?? Those should be plenty big enough?

The portion of the jaw that would grip on a screw/bolt to be extracted is only 4mm wide so not so good for larger screws. The pliers are a full inch shorter than a standard pair, the pic makes it look as though the handle end overlaps but that is just the camera angle. The elastic band is to keep the plier handles closed for comparison, there is a spring to keep them open, I think I'll probably remove it. DSCN0815.JPG

Chas the jaws are the more force you can apply to the bolt head. I have found it very difficult to get enough clamping force from standard pliers on some bolts.

Ever heard of an impact driver ?

Yes, I've heard of them, not much use on a screw the size of a 2BA though, unless you got a Hobbit one from Frodo?
