Today after my daughter had all her crimbo presents yesterday her tv went Phutt, so off to Currys/Pcworld & lob out another £200 on a new smart tv, It's a JVC & does everything you can possibly think of EXCEPT you can't watch sky on it, There's no AV on the remote, you can retune it & get the sky channels but nothing else so you then have to retune it back again to get everything else back

Am i missing something ?

Is there a source button or anything else labelled up for one of the scart/ hdmi inputs?

As said there must be a way of selecting the individual inputs. One of the HDMI inputs may be the primary which the TV automatically switches to when it sees a signal. AV usually referred to Scart inputs which are old tech now and all but obsolete.

Usually they detect the signal from the Sky box. Should just switch to it when it's connected, switched on and nothing else is switched on and connected.
Otherwise, see above.

No source button on the remote, the only connection i have on the back is the coax lead that comes from the main set up downstairs, her old tv used to get sky & freeview ok from that

My samsung smart as a hare in a snare came with two remotes , one is typical and the other half the size with half as many buttons because it works like a wireless mouse pointer . Having found a remote might another have been left in the packaging ?

Both mine however have a source button ?

hit the input button and then quickly press channel up says google ?

Coax..that is only going to work as an antenna input I would have thought. Also when you say from 'down stairs'.. what Is on the other end of that cable?

Can you post details about the tv model ?

I'm guessing you got a JVC LT-32C650 Smart and if so the the input button is on on the the top right of the centre square . You have - OK - up down left or right and then a surrounding square .

Do i have the right tv ? do you have the right remote ?

Its the button with the arrow into a square very top right corner

yes Shane, model no LT-32c655 ( c ) looked on gurgle but can't see a better exact pic of our remote

If the pic you posted is the remote you have then the source button is at the very top right corner .

But what you are trying to do by the sound of it is to work your Sky as a secondary from the box elsewhere? Through a 'Magic Eye'? So the Sky remote works the box and this TV sees what the TV on the box elsewhere sees?

If so, I think it needs tuning in as a station see here
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/watch-sky-in-different-rooms
You'll have done most of this before so only one or two points need completing.

To view, I think you then need to select the channel you've tuned in, though I've no idea how to do this if it's a free view only TV.
