Smart tv help needed

I can see the forum reflected on tv if i turn it off and face my laptop screen towards it .

Shayne, here's a pic of the source list, none of these bring up sky, we are not trying to use the sky remote in the room where the tv is ( upstairs ), with her old telly she could only watch what we were watching downstairs

In that case you'll need to tune one of the channels to pick up sky rather than use the source

I was thinking the same as Mark , pick whatever channel comes before 1 and tune it individually .

But what you are trying to do by the sound of it is to work your Sky as a secondary from the box elsewhere? Through a 'Magic Eye'? So the Sky remote works the box and this TV sees what the TV on the box elsewhere sees?

If so, I think it needs tuning in as a station see here
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/watch-sky-in-different-rooms
You'll have done most of this before so only one or two points need completing.

To view, I think you then need to select the channel you've tuned in, though I've no idea how to do this if it's a free view only TV.

Hang on , why not just put the lead into the side of the tv and see if "side AV" works as a switch over source

The lead is already plugged in the side Shayne, it supplies free view & sky

Beginning to think she will have to do without sky.

JM, set your Sky box downstairs to a channel then tune your daughters tv to receive what the Sky box is receiving. Save that to a spare channel '0' for instance then she should be able to watch it by selecting channel '0'.

This worked on analogue, I'm not sure how it works on your daughters TV though but your instruction book should tell you.
