I think I'll stop here :) To make pictures in that part of Africa is not a big challenge. They throw the opportunities at your feet.

Again great pics Evan. I rarely get people shots, what's the protocol - do you need to ask first?

Also what camera did you use?
 
I use a Nikon D300 with a Nikon 18-200mm lens. Most of the time. The lens has a perfect bandwidth to get this nice contrast/blur background. Normally you don't have time to switch lenses so this is the one which basically does it for me. The protocol generally is to smile and have fun with the people and then I 'catch' them. The other advantage of the lens I just mentioned is that you can take some distance and you are less intrusive.

The camera has some nice options to switch between automatic, semi auto and fully manual. It also can focus where you look at which helps if you want to catch someone in the middle of a group at close focus. I made thousands of pictures and then it becomes second nature. Helps a lot:)
