Spamming, Call to Green Laners - petition to overthrow NERC bill etc

Most of my emails I ever receive are spam - you say you have a new system to
deal with them - can you provide the details so I can go and get a copy
myself, as its a real pain everyday having to add all their details to my
anti-spamming software (McAfee - it doesn't do the job its promises...). to
put it mildly, I'm pulling my hair out everyday because I just can't get
those spammers to get OFF my system! (soon I'll be bald no doubt...)

OK, going a bit techie and off topic, but here is a quick answer...
I
At the end of the day it doesn't matter - with any data collection form the
object is to verify the email address - this website does by sending out the
email to confirm it.
On the ELCO website it is spammed several times a day where they are
submitting junk about viagra, prescriptions, blackjack, loans, etc in the
list subscription form, the purpose is to get the info out there so all the
email address are fake. It's a pain in the rear to unsubscribe them, but I
have a new system in the process that will reolve the issue.
On a topical side note one of the headlines on this morning's news is that
the Police are having their knuckles wrapped for signing petitions from work
computers!

Hi Renate,
The system I use for office emails is a bit heavy duty for home users, but I
hear that http://www.mailwasher.net/ is pretty good.
If using Outlook or Outlook express, make sure that you have the latest
versions, they are starting to include spam filtering that is pretty good.
