Speedo cable

Hi all , has anyone replaced their speedo cable ?, if so what's the degree of difficulty ?, mines got a chirp and needs replacing as its doing my head in now .
I am aware the instrument cluster needs to come out and can see where it screws onto gear box.

my 80 is an electric speedo so I cant help with that, sorry
