Steering Damper

Greetings all.
My steering has been all over the place this past while.
Am replacing knackered Tie Rod ends and Drag Link ends with bits from
Milners.
Re the Steering Damper.
>From memory it was discussed on the forum that OME was the best to go
for. Milners have one for *40. Does anyone know if the Milners ones are
any good or is the OME the way to go?
Cheers

OME, definately, unless you are planning on getting rid of the
vehicle. Milners have their uses but this is not one of them.

Thanks Clive

So for OME I have to go to MrToyota direct - unless someone out there knows different.

John B - Did you get an OME from somewhere in the UK?

Niall

Hi Niall,
OME = Old Man Emu
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer.
For OME you can go to any of the big 4x4 companies like TBR UK, Frogs
Island, Devon 4x4 - they all source from the same importer.

Thanks Julian

Nearly went and got myself an OEM instead of an OME.

140 yo yo's in the difference.....

Niall

Hey Niall
Julian is right as usual. All the good places in the Uk stock the OME stuff and there is very little difference in the cost. The only thing that may pursuade you to buy in one place V another is if they have it in stock. If its out of stock it can take a while to get in especially if they have to row to Aus for the thing.
The OME is fine and its better than the standard I think.
cheers

John

Was talking to 1 supplier that had Gabriel Dampers - said they came in from Australia & were heavy duty off road!!!!

I did a check and a few sites and Gabriel were rubbished as old technology. Bit harsh perhaps as sometimes the old technology that is tried and tested out-performs the new fangled stuff

Anyway, OME in the post

Thanks

Niall
