Cape Town, and Cape Point, have a number of names, from Cape of Good Hope, the Tavern of the Seas to the most telling - The Cape of Storms. It's not too far from the Roaring 40s and there's nothing between Cape Town and Antarctica but the Southern Ocean.

So when a storm arrives in winter, it can be awesome to experience. Such an event happened weekend before last.

Anyone familiar with Cape Town will know The Brass Bell pub and restaurant at Kalk Bay - built right on the rocks at the waters edge. Here's some pics from the storm. The harbour entrance beacon is built on the harbour wall and is pretty big (and almost every year someone gets washed off that wall, seldom to be seen again!)

Nature's power is awesome to behold!!

Good photos Gary.
I know the place well.
Have many a time strolled along the breakwater, and enjoyed fish and chips at "Kalkies"
.
