For a vehicle registered after 1st of March 2001 with engine size larger
than 1549cc the rate is =A3180 / per year - that's me how it stays that way,
4200cc CO2 unknown.

Road tax in the UK is currently =A3190 per year for the sort of age machines
we have, rising to =A3400/year if you bought one more recently.
C02 emissions for the LC 4.2TD engine are actually around the 290 g/km mark
(figures for the 1998 onwards engine)

Well we had our budget and now our road tax per year for the cruiser is now
over the 1500 euro.
So I would just like to know how much we are getting ripped off compared to
the rest of out fello cruiser owners where ever they may be.
Please let me know so I may cry a bit more.
As far as I can remember , now this is really where it gets dodgy but.
The cruiser produces=A0 just over 60% more C02 than say your new little car
which may produce 110 g per km.
=A0So the cruiser produces I think about 176g per km.
=A0Yet I now have to pay 9 times the road tax of that car.
=A0Of course the older the car the worse the emmissions get because most older
car owners of 15+ years are not as fussy as us cruiser owners=A0regarding
maintainance etc.
=A0The last test my cruiser went for it produced only .65 out of the allowable
3.0.
And I nearly forgot if I convert it to comerical it suddenly only produces
very little emmisions=A0if you were to go by the road tax band (really
amazing) and if you think=A0if this done like all other comerical vehicles
they would write all this expense off against tax.
