Gents how much grease goes in the swivel housing , topped up mine as the swivels looked dry , put one tube in each side run it for a week swivels still looked dry so put a second one in, they now look like they are getting greased just wondered if it needed any more.

Tube - or should that have read tub? If you are still coming round today I can talk you through it save people having to type long replies about how immobile CV grease is. It won't just work its way round the back of the cannon balls. I'll have a look at them later.

the whole unit should be 3/4 full going by the fsm.

put milners axle seals in. then itll work its way everywhere....

Thanks Chris,

all sorted at the minute and thanks for the tea chat and advice.

I used to use a cable tie down the filling hole to gauge amount in there.
Recently starting using the depth probe on my venier gauge as could never quite get the cable tie to work properly.

Looking at the grease line on the balls left by the wiper seals seems to give a rough idea of levels in there.

On a different note, I fitted Longfield lifetime wiper seals a year ago and they have been great.
Real PITA to fit but do good job when in there.

Dave.
