The Elegant Delahaye.

I understand both the above. The Camaro is just beautifully finished. The Delahayes are a whacky design for all the right reasons. They're both great.

For me though, it has to be a 1920s Bentley, like this one for example.

To me, this is engineering beauty. It looks great, is fantastically engineered and by God it goes and it's nearly 90 years old!!

Back in my youth (yes I was young once) I had a chance of buying one of these that had actually taken part in a Le Mans race, an Alfa Romeo 2300 Spider, but I couldn't get behind the wheel because of my long legs, the doors didn't open, maybe they were welded shut for race reasons.

I reckon this is the most impressive vehicle in Leno's collection but i personally could not attach the word "beauty" to it in any way shape or form , its a beast a mechanical marvel a big boys toy but it aint pretty .

Vehicle beauty for me means sleek lines aggressive in an elegant sort of way curves were they should be and proportions that are just right like  a classic Camaro perhaps  the shape was already there Rich all they did was slap some makeup on it , its a nice finish but they used the wrong wheel and tyre combination and i guess they just forgot to paint the tail lights :icon-biggrin: beauty is in the eye of the beholder and for each of us it will be different .

A monster but a thing of beauty.

I think for me, the beauty is in the craftsmanship and the engineering just as much as the look of the car. The Camero interior was beautifully made. All the boot panels look right.

Leno's car is a modern creation. A customised brute, but the engineering is superb.

For older cars I like to see both what's original and what can be done to customise them, for then they too become unique.

The original Bentleys just epitomise style and engineering excellence over out and out racing ability, yet still they ran and won races. A bit like Volvo entering their 850T5 as an estate car into the BTCC…and winning!!!

Beauty is, most definitely, in the eye of the beholder and every car on this thread is beautiful in my eyes. As much for daring to be different as anything else. I love the thought that the 20s Bentleys were made on machines that were pre computers by men with skill and slide rules with their bare hands. And raced by guys that raced whatever the safety aspects.

Would I own the Camaro if I had the opportunity and the money…you bet!! In fact I would with any. But if I had to save really hard for one and choose just one, it would be an original Bentley from the 20s.

I do like the Alfa, the lines I mean, it's nicely balanced.

The Bently, ooooh yes, as Jay said, "no replacement for displacement"

A beast, and only ever on idle or a few revs above. My sort of engine.

I like his garage clips, he has a good sense of humor, besides some wonerful machines (not to mention more money than brains, his words...).
