I saw a programme on the guys designing and building that and other vehicles. There was only a few of them but the military had taken quite an interest in their ideas and were funding the build which was all CNC laser cut from computer drawings.
Watched it this afternoon - The 'Ripsaw' is fantastic - but I love that 700BHP Dune Buggy with paddle tyres that was doing wheelies in the sand !
They must have a huge budget - the cost of driving the ripsaw through a wall in a Shopping Mall (assuming it was there) and then driving it around amongst the customers (extras ?) must have cost a bomb.
Clarkson's off-road/broadside driving vid was a bit of a hoot.
Some of their stuff leaves me cold (James May turning a Lada Riva into a fire Engine) but there is usually an unexpected sting in the tail (in that instance the 'water bomber' aircraft).
The dune buggy was 1500 bhp. It was the Saw that was 700.
I love it. It's entertainment. I oddly found the very informative article on the VW Up! really boring. I don't tune in to get information on cars that are actually available from a local dealer!
