Well, I am thinking of buying a cheap car here in China.
Only a very small run about, for little days out.
I have been looking at Chinese brands, because of the cheap mandatory insurance.
The BYD F0 is the copy of the Toyota Aygo.
This is a 2008 with 50,000km = 35,000 miles.
This for £900
New are £3600

BYD F0

I was also thinking of an all electric Dawoo Matiz.

The real Ayego drives horribly. Lets hope those that copied it improved that.

How much do the copies go for? What about a bit of safety?

You've got to hand it to them. I didn't think it was possible to make the Aygo any nastier and more plastic-y.

But by god, the Chinese have done it. What a bunch of industrious little fellows.

New they start at £3,600
Nobody drives fast here.
I guess, 60km/h is really shifting here.
It's not for any highway use.
probably drive better than the real Aygo, but I wouldn't put money on it.
Safety, well, yes, probably not much safety, but given the low speeds we all seem to do here, and very surprisingly so very few bangs and scrapes, I don't think safety is top of the list.

The other option could be the BYD F3 DM
This is again a Toyota Corolla copy, with hybrid power.
