Tomtom home download help Req'd !

As in the title I'm unable to download the latest version of home on my windows vista, I've uninstalled the old version, I've turned the firewall off, I've plenty of space to store it but all keep getting is an error message which reads
Error opening file for writing
C:\programme files\tomtom home
2\xul\components\home services.dll

Any ideas please
Oh, and please bare in mind I've only just learnt how to use a calculator so keep it simple

have you restarted the pc since you removed the old version? is there any other tom tom software on the pc like an updater that you should also uninstall? The error may be because the file is in use by another tom tom program.

Lots of other reasons that could happen but lets try that one first
