Tyre Pressure Advice

Just had my new set of General Grabber AT's fitted

Looking much better and feels great. No noticeable noise difference at all.

Just checked to see what pressures I've been given - and they range from 32 - 34psi.

So question is... given the following spec (and assuming it's not loaded to the nuts) what's a good pressure?

LC120, General Grabber AT's @ 265 x 65 x 17 ... general road use for starters.

They do look a bit low - I'll go with 36 as you say and see

So factory rating is 2.2 bar all round. I'd step that up to about 2.4 and see how harsh it is. You have better, stiffer sidewalls now and loads of tread. I try to run road pressure so there's no bulge at the bottom - works for me but can be a little harsh with no load.

It's a bit of a 'suck it and see' especially for first 300km or do until they settle now and scrub in.

I normally have mine at 36PSI but have tried 41/2 (I think 45 is max?) but it's bloody uncomfortable. Not helped by the OME shocks but you feel every stone on the road.

Upped to 35psi and feels/looks a lot better

Might still creep up a bit and see how it feels.

BFG AT seem to like higher pressures than 35.
Probably because of the stiffer side wall.

However your GG AT will feel good with loads of air in them.
As before, try 38 psi next.

i ran BFG at 35-36 psi last week when fully loaded for motorway stints, felt Ok
normally had them at 33psi
for greenlaning i lowered pressure to 28-20psi

I run the general grabbers AT2 about 33-35psi when i have those wheels on. in Pyrenees last summer this was too uncomfortable and harsh on stony tracks, so i reduced to around 30psi.
i didnt find the BFG harsh like the GGAT2 at 35psi on some greenlanes when i didnt lower the tyre pressures for traction improvement
but the grabbers are 225/75 R16 on 6" wide toytoa alloys and my BFG are 265/75 R16 on 7" Toyota alloys
