Tyre wear

Being new to 4x4s I was wondering which tyres wear fastest; front or
back?
Just thinking about tyre rotation. I want to make sure they all wear out
together so I have a choice of what I fit next rather than have to match
up the other 2.
Thanks,
Ian.

Under 'normal' use the outer edges of the fronts go first.
Rotating tyres is something I've often pondered about. I assume the theory
is that they all need replacing at once - Why is that a good thing? Surely
it just means a bigger bill...
Or are we saying that you actually get more wear and that, as a set, they'll
last longer?
If that's the case, there's also probably an argument for re-mounting a tyre
the other way around, given that Landcruisers seem to have an appetite for
the outer shoulders of the fronts, as noted above.
