well, it had to happen....

Ho hum, it turns out the accessories, Snorkel, awning mainly are 'not' covered by our insurance company as they forgot to add them to the list we sent them.......we even offered photo's as evidence but the bint on the other end of the phone said....its just a formality, no need to do that........

Rotten slimey wriggle out of everything baskits!

However, I just ordered a hawkwing awning from Direct 4x4 for th esame price as a normal one so get in quick!

ooo, look what just turned up!

I think she is Mrs A! they came in to work from their holiday to get me the winch bar on time, defo not Frenchies!
Antoine says there are some interesting things coming in a couple of months!

I think she is (Mrs A that is). But I thought he's Swiss and she's originally French? (Not that it really matters of course). Their shop is a dangerous place to visit - lots and lots of toys!

Ah, yes, what he said to me was "thank goodness we dont work like the French!" Even the Dutch say "built by a Frenchman" for something thats a bit dodgy :icon-biggrin:
Hang on....Airbus.........Concord.........Priorty a droit........

ho hum, no truck for another week or two (as suspected) In an act of complete muppetry, the garage guy has wrecked an air con pipe which used to join the ones he was asked to replace .....what a burk - cant fit bumper/lights until this pipe is sourced delivered and fitted! grrrrrrr complete TIT! this is now week 10, yes 10 weeks since the accident. Its a joke!

Oh, and he said the winch cradle didnt fit.......he was trying to get it on upside down........I give up!

Its now 18 days since I have updated this thread and over 12 weeks since the prang. We have had 2 promised pick up dates pass, and today we went into the garage to be told......the expert (the one who took a month to look at it) has to check the work has been done OK, and this is Supposed to happen Thursday 25th. He then has to bolt the new winch bumper on, wash and polish the truck, so we have been promised Friday lunch time pick up! 1 day short of 13 weeks. I just hope he has done it right! I will let you know with pics - oh our CT (2 yr MOT) runs out Thursday, so its booked in straight from the garage for a CT with no mods (thinking HID, Light bar, spots etc etc ) Still all he can do is advise me and I will probably have to go back with halogens switched light bar blah blah blah. you wait, the brakes will fail.........

Chin up Steve it's easy to forget that 3 months ago you were worrying about whether or not they would scrap her :icon-exclaim: worrying never helps anything but it does make waiting more painful than it has to be , what will be will be or as the Manx say Traa dy liooar :icon-wink:

Yeah, could be worse, could be driving a hummer! :)

 yeah well my minds made up the money would be far better spent on my 90 but i have to wait for the daughter in law to drop her first rugrat before i can go and get my baby home :techie-hourglass::angry-tappingfoot::text-lol: no consideration women have they she should have popped yesterday !

well, she lives! At last the car is back. Also passed a CT (MOT) on the way home, with a couple of advisories (rusty bits) and a faded fog light (looks white not red) no mention of legality of HID kit, led light bar, hight of new fog lights on winch bar etc! He did say about the oversize tyres 75 rather than 70's, but I said I have the old set at home do you really want me to drive home and change them? - No, he said, all you will do is change them back! - however if you ever sell it, sell it with the 70's on, as it wont be legal...the new owner can fit the 75's........
However.....what a crap paint job. (paint runs, taped over handles rather than remove) what a crap wiring of accessories job. What a crap job of tightening body trim.Half the spot lights didnt work - the side lights on the bumper only come on with headlights. The elecy mirror that was replaced doesnt work. My flood light reversing light - the wire had been 'poked' into the hole and not connected.I have spent th elast 2 hrs re-doing some of their twist together wiring so we dont catch fire tonight!
Going back to see what he says - 13 weeks and for a crap job just isnt good. :(
Still, here are some pics.

OUCH! now there's a catch 22 if i ever seen one . I think the line i would take with insurance is that they have devalued your vehicle . They are unlikely to want to double up on the claim but if you offer to get it sorted yourself "if you had the funds" they might throw you a cheque as a goodwill gesture without accepting any liability of course .

OMG, how annoying. I think words with insurance company about the quality are in order if he doesn't listen.
